Bayshore CAPA is asking for donations to bring this vision to life.

Background:

Bayshore CAPA began in 2004 as Bayshore Arts, a 501 C-3 grass roots organization founded by a few local visual artists and community members. It expanded to include the performing arts in 2006, and in 2007 formally defined its mission “To create a state of the art multi-use flex-space Cultural and Performing Arts Center that showcases local visual and performing artists, thereby providing accessible, affordable cultural, educational and performing opportunities for the community”. In 2008, Bayshore Arts re-named itself Bayshore Cultural and Performing Arts Center, Inc. and promoted the resolution passed by the Collier Redevelopment Agency and the County Commission to create the Bayshore Cultural District.

Dear Artists/Organization,

CAPA is proud to announce recent progress to accomplish its goal of acquiring land and proceed with constructing a state-of-the-art, multi-use center. The Bayshore Cultural & Performing Arts Center is being designed to accommodate a wide range of artists/organizations’ needs, not only for today, but tomorrow as well. We invite your participation in this process as we fine tune the facilities capabilities as well as develop the policies that will be needed to enable a maximum success of a multitude of events.

This form is a comprehensive request that you update your facility needs as an artist/organization. If you have previously submitted information we requested, we still would like you to fill-out this new questionnaire with new information that will drive our fund-raising needs and architectural design to meet these facility needs. We would like to remind you that CAPA is gearing for growth and we remind you to keep that in mind for your organization's requirements as well.

CAPA's success will be measured by your success in your mission, goals and objectives that are consistent with a community based multi-cultural performance center. We also will need your input about the creation of policies that would nurture a community spirit for the arts. Building a good foundation in this area is key for a successful and vibrant venue and a richer community as a result.

Please fill out information about your artists/organization's mission statement, your needs now and geared for realistic future growth, and general policy considerations arising from your perspective as an artist/organization affecting the successful operations of a multi-function center with CAPA's mission statement in mind:

MISSION: Bayshore CAPA’s Mission is to create a multi-use, flex space, Cultural and Performing Arts Center to showcase local visual and performing artists, providing affordable and accessible educational, cultural and performance opportunities for the community.

Please designate the most appropriate person in your organization to fill out the form and represent/articulate your needs, and to review key points in a CAPA meeting to be held on TBA at the CRA Office in the board room at 1:00PM.
