Bayshore CAPA is asking for donations to bring this vision to life.

Background:

Bayshore CAPA began in 2004 as Bayshore Arts, a 501 C-3 grass roots organization founded by a few local visual artists and community members. It expanded to include the performing arts in 2006, and in 2007 formally defined its mission “To create a state of the art multi-use flex-space Cultural and Performing Arts Center that showcases local visual and performing artists, thereby providing accessible, affordable cultural, educational and performing opportunities for the community”. In 2008, Bayshore Arts re-named itself Bayshore Cultural and Performing Arts Center, Inc. and promoted the resolution passed by the Collier Redevelopment Agency and the County Commission to create the Bayshore Cultural District.

Headlining Bayshore Festival of the Arts Naples, Florida — July 25, 2011 — Casey Weston, country singer, guitarist, and finalist on NBC’s The Voice, will be the headline performer at the annual Bayshore Festival of the Arts presented by Bayshore Cultural & Performing Arts Center (CAPA) on Saturday and Sunday, January 28 and 29, 2012, from 11a.m. to 6 p.m., at Collier County’s Sugden Regional Park. Weston will perform on Saturday. More than 250 outstandingly talented Naples’ performing artists and the Band of the United States Air Force Reserve will entertain Festival attendees. In addition, the Bayshore Festival of the Arts will include an art show featuring the works of juried local visual artists. Music will alternate between two stages. Saturday’s lineup includes award-winning Seacrest High School Chorus, Irish Celtic Trio, Tir Na Nog Celtic Dancers, Paradise Coastmen Barbershop Chorus, Frontline Bluegrass, and Collier County’s pride and joy, Casey Weston. Sunday will offer an eclectic mix of music from Naples Klezmer Revival Band, Naples Concert Band, the Rebecca Richardson Quartet, the Dan Miller - Lew Del Gatto Quintet, and will close with a rousing performance by the Band of the United States Air Force Reserve from Warner Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. Some of Naples’ finest restaurants and food vendors will provide food and beverage for sale at the Festival. Bayshore Cultural & Performing Arts Center Vice President Chellie Doepke stated, “Bring your dancing shoes, chairs, blankets, and be prepared for two days of fabulous entertainment and inspirational art.” The Bayshore Festival of the Arts is free and open to the public. Donations are encouraged. Parking on site will be $5. Bayshore CAPA presents the Bayshore Festival of the Arts in collaboration with Collier County Parks and Recreation and the support of the Community Redevelopment Agency.
