Background:

Bayshore CAPA began in 2004 as Bayshore Arts, a 501 C-3 grass roots organization founded by a few local visual artists and community members.  It expanded to include the performing arts in 2006, and in 2012 formally updated its mission to provide a state-of-the-art cultural and performing arts center that showcases local visual and performing artists, thereby offering affordable and accessible educational, cultural and performance opportunities for the community."

.  In 2008, Bayshore Arts re-named itself Bayshore Cultural and Performing Arts Center, Inc. and promoted the resolution passed by the Collier Redevelopment Agency and the County Commission to create the Bayshore Cultural District.

Performers To Be Announced

Collier County is the home of many not-for-profit organizations that have cultural and performing arts missions, but are in constant search for adequate rehearsal and performance venues.  Concurrently, there is a large segment of the Collier County community that is in need of affordable cultural enrichment. In time, the Bayshore Cultural and Performing Arts Center will become the home to a vast number of varied performing artists including concert band, orchestra, chorus, visual arts, theater, and many other cultural and performing groups. The Bayshore Cultural and Performing Arts (CAPA) Center Advisory Board comprises representatives of many of the Naples area’s cultural and performing arts groups.  The project’s objective is to anchor the Cultural District along Bayshore Drive.  Current vision calls for the facility to provide performance venues, studios, rehearsal rooms, storage and administrative space for the many users. The Bayshore CAPA Board and its Advisory Board presently consist of representatives from Naples Concert Band, Naples Orchestra and Chorus, Naples Music Club, Classic Chamber Series, Paradise Coastmen Barbershop Chorus Bob Zottola’s Expandable Jazz Band, Flute Cocktail, and includes community leaders with legal, financial, and business expertise.
